Styling a Basic Pencil Skirt | 5 A/W Trends 5 Looks

With so many Autumn/Winter trends coming up this year, this time of the season is definitely becoming my favorite of all! Right now I am trying to get the most of these trends from my existing wardrobe with few purchases. I hate the idea of not shopping (it’s my cardio and it keeps me motivated to work harder, lol) but am trying to work out my outfits with lesser items just to challenge myself!

So here I am today to show you what I did so far!

Styling a Basic Pencil Skirt | 5 A/W Trends 5 Looks

1. Sheer Top

If you haven’t tried this one yet, I insist you do! By far, this is one of my favorite trends and I love the fact that how lovely this can transition into spring/summer as well. So if you are planning on buying one, invest well. I am sure this trend is going to stay and/or repeat itself quite a lot in coming months.

As for me, I paired my Austin Reed Polka Dot Sheer top with the Black Basic Pencil Skirt. And wore the pointy toe shoes I got from Dorothy Perkins. This is perfect for a day out when you want to look well put together and still not work much on the styling.

Throw on a well-cut blazer style casual jacket for the day, or simply a long coat to keep the nip away during the evenings/night.

And if you ask me, simply throw on a cropped sweater to change it from a Day-to-Night outfit in secs.

2. Red Jumper

This is one trend that often repeats during this time of the year! Nothing screams Holiday Mood like a Red Jumper. Plus, this is classy and timeless and can be dressed up or down depending on the mood.

As for me, I would add some bling and change my shoes into sock booties (which are by the way big on trend right now) for a quick date-night look.

3. Animal Print

Animal Print is one trend that rocks every season of the year. I certainly can not imagine Holidays without this print in my go-to looks!

It is effortless, classy and chic and can transform any outfit into super glam in secs. I love how this print compliments the suede jacket so well.

Again, to notch up a bit, I would add some bling and sock booties in black to make it a date-night look. There is definitely something about Animal Prints and Pointy toes, they always look like they are made for each other!

4. Winter Florals

This is one trend am glad came in full swing. I practically saw Winter Florals everywhere and I love every bit of it. The moody palette, so I like to call, offers a quick yet fun twist to the whole outfit. Soft, sober yet mysteriously beautiful; these prints are the must-have for the season.

So if you haven’t already tried this one yet, this is one trend you should definitely give a try!

5. Graphic Prints

Again, graphic prints and printed tees are everywhere this season. Be it with Animal print jackets or metallic skirts, these are one thing, again, you shouldn’t miss.

These are easily transitional into Spring/Summer so invest in some fancy and fun pieces. While I am still looking out for statement tees, yes I haven’t found the ones I like, graphics and printed tees look bomb when paired with metallic skirts, knitted skirts, and even animal prints.

A pencil skirt can go with so many different styles and tops. I need to pick up a couple more colors.
