L’Oreal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Liquid Facial Primer

I wanted to try a little more of this before I started pitching it as my absolute favorite, so the delay. I have been using L’Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Liquid Facial Primer for the last 3 months and it seriously is my holy grail product. I have used MAC Prep + Prime for almost 2 yrs now in a row and never had a complaint. I still don’t, it is as fabulous as I can remember but I think I was looking for a little more than just a fabulous primer.
For all the good, MAC Primer doesn’t cut out the yellow tinge of my skin and worst, the foundation adds a little more making my skin at times look too warm toned that it usually is.
And when I heard Lydia Millen mention (on Snapchat a few months ago) about L’Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Liquid Facial Primer I had to try.

This L’Oréal Paris Primer is like any other primer but lighter in formula and gives a pearly-dewy finish. It cuts out the yellow tone on my skin and using a MAC foundation over it means a healthy and glowy looking skin for me.

I have never received so many compliments before on my skin and makeup. Lumi definitely made my crappy skin look a lot better than it usually is.

And this is slightly cheaper than the MAC Prep + Prime which is definitely a blessing. Plus, it gives a bright and healthy glow to the skin whilst keeping it light weight. It is nothing close to a moisturizer so an added moisturizer in the routine is a must. It is more like a skin perfector, adding a healthy glow to the skin and phasing out the fine lines for a radiant and perfected finish.

Can you see the skin tone difference? It’s cut out the yellow/warm tinge of the skin.

Much said, here are few things why I absolutely Love this –

  • Part –illuminator and part primer
  • Wear this primer along with the setting powder (tinted in my case) and still look radiant
  • Offers super levels of service especially when it comes to crap skin rescue

Price – 12.99$, Walgreens

1825 ₹,

The only hassle is its availability. This is currently not available in India and I got mine from Walgreens.

It’s been 3 months since I started using this and I absolutely love it. So before I run out of this and waste my time and energy hunting for the dupe, I have ordered 2 more as backup and I should be getting my stuff by this month end. So am all sorted out for few more months (or at least till I can get packages from the US again).

So if you are making a US shopping list, then include L’Oréal Paris Magic Lumi Light Infusing Liquid Facial Primer as well. I promise you won’t ever regret!

Which primer is your absolute favorite at the moment and why?

Maybelline Babylips Candy Wow in Peach and Mixed Berry

maybelline babylips candy wow
Maybelline babylips candy wow

Maybelline Babylips Candy Wow is the last winter launch from Maybelline India. It is another spectacular product launch from the brand and Maybelline BabyLips Candy Wow Collection is totally breathtaking! The colors and the packing left me in awe and I simply can’t get enough of this already. They once again hit the spot and came up with the undying trend of chubby sticks or lip crayon style packaging which makes these so irresistible. Not that there aren’t many of these sorts in the market but somehow these totally stood out with the bright colors and the chubby stick style look. Besides, these look cuter than the others. Like seriously!

Here are the pics –

What I Love –
  • Hydrating Formula
  • Sheer Tints
  • Candy color packing
  • Enriched with Vit E
  • Moisturizes lips well and leaves a faint tint behind
It’s perfect time again to take out these to play with since it is almost winter. The formula is more hydrating and moisturizing than their usual Baby Lips balms and also the tint is pretty good too which makes these the perfect ones to have around during this time. That said, their packing still takes the front seat and beats everything out. Just for these cutesy looking ones I personally don’t mind buying them all.

Think of how cute the pictures would turn out with this somewhere in back ground of the pictures! Lol…
On a side note, this is definitely a keeper!
While Peach shade washed me out, my favorite at the moment is Mixed Berry.
Currently available in 4 shades – Raspberry, Mixed Berry, Peach, Orange (didn’t find the 5th one in any counters yet)
Price – 275 INR
Available – All Maybelline Counters (at the moment) and Flipkart
Beauty Hack: Slice of the crayon tip lightly to get the tint color much stronger
While I was at the counter, I realized that their testers had the blunt tips and the color payoff was pretty damn good. So I tried at home and it works. So there you go. Yes, you are Welcome!

NYX | Lip Lingerie Embellishment + Soft Matte Lip Cream Seoul

My lip color of choice right now is any muted tone shade. If you have seen my Instagram posts lately, most of my lip colors tend to deviate towards the same – hints of brown, nude and even ashy tones for that matter.

Ever since I laid my eyes on NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment, I have been on the hunt and even experiment with various lip colors to make my own shades. And this one, in particular, came out very well! I have been asked constantly as what I wore in the following picture which I posted on Instagram recently, so I decided I would do a little post and let you know.

NYX Lip Lingerie in Embellishment + Soft Matte Lip Cream in Seoul

My recent NYX haul from the US got me some matte colors and among them, Soft Matte Lip Cream in Seoul and Lip Lingerie in Embellishment are the ones I loved most.

Seoul is a pretty peppy color all by itself but since there’s change in the season, I decided to tweak my lip colors a bit to suit the monsoon time.

Here, I used Seoul all over my lips and dabbed Embellishment generously in the center of the lips and blended it good with my fingertips. This actually gave the peppy Seoul a more of ashy tone which I found super pretty!

Embellishment as alone washed me off and it didn’t really go well with brown lip colors either. So I picked a peppy color and tried the Embellishment and it works like a charm.

The final result is a beautiful taupe-ish grey with strong undertones of Purple-pink which looks fabulous in person.

Since both are matte, I assumed they would feather away and/or settle in the fine lines making it non-wearable for all day sort, but luckily nothing such happened. It survived a full course meal and also a cold coffee prior to that. No touch-ups needed whatsoever for strong 4-5 hours which for me is a pretty decent time.

However using a good lip scrub and prepping the lips with a moisturizing lip balm showed better results.

Overall, this is my favorite lip color at the moment. Though it’s dark and has undertones of pink, it perfectly suits the monsoon time because of the ashy tone of Embellishment to the lip color.

What’s your favorite shade for Monsoons? Did you try NYX Lip Lingerie yet?

Makeup | Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Pact Review

Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Pact Review
Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Pact is my first compact from Korean Cosmetics and I must say, I have been loving this so far. So am here today to share about this No-Sebum pact from Innisfree which claims to control sebum and give a soft and non-oily look. Read on to see how much it faired in my opinion.

Claims :

The sebum control powder pact is designed to portray soft and powdery complexion. Oil-controlling and skin-perfecting powder sets foundation and blots away excess shine to keep skin fresh and matte. This translucent powder contains Jeju natural mineral and natural originated mint, ingredients that refresh and nourish skin with every use.

Here’re some good things –
6-free formula: Paraben, Talc, Mineral Oil, Artificial Dye, Animal ingredients, Synthetic fragrance
Packaging :
Simple and fuss free, the compact comes in a matte finish mint colored round case with a snap on lid

**Puff is not in the pictures**

The pact comes with a puff which seems quite handy and comes with a protective cover which keeps the pact and the puff intact without touching each other, hygienic if you ask me (I tend to use a brush many times than the puff unless in an emergency)

Texture and color :

Translucent but in white, which when applied and blended well doesn’t leave any whitish cast behind
Scent :
Mild mint scent which is pleasant
Sebum and Oil Control :

Like it claims, this product gives a perfect matte finish and keeps the skin shine free. Though might need quick touch ups often for Oily skins

What I like –
  • Small and compact case
  • 6 free formula
  • Natural ingredients
  • Faint Minty scent
  • Doesn’t leave a white cast
  • Leaves the skin shine free
What I Don’t Like –
  • Low coverage
In my opinion, if you have a combination skin like mine; then this product works perfectly for you. Where the oily skins might not find this much useful because of the frequent touch ups one will have to do; but if you don’t mind that, then this is a great product. Same time, if you are looking for a medium to high coverage; this is not the product.
It gives a low coverage which in fact aids in letting the skin breathe. High coverage is never ideal for a daily routine!
Still one has to keep a note on the climate and the temperature around. Currently, in Winter season I hardly find my skin shiny except few times and this works just fine (in fact much better than higher end international brands) though I must say its true test comes when it’s summer here.

This Innisfree No-Sebum comes in pact as well as powder form. I personally find powder to be quite messy to manage so my preference always goes to pact.

What is your choice ? Do you like pact or powder to set the foundation? Have you tried this pact? What’s your opinion?

Fit me
Here’s why I love it :
  • Compact and perfect for travel
  • Comes with a mirror and a powder puff
  • Handbag friendly
  • Puff has seperate compartment and is not in contact with the powder all the time
  • Keeps the puff as well as powder hygienic
  • Finely milled powder
  • Light coverage
  • Powder has faint shimmer

Fit me

Here’s what I don’t love :

  • Powder puff is not convenient to use, doesn’t have a ribbon or anything to get a grip
  • Attached mirror seems delicate
  • Powder all by itself doesn’t stand upto to the claims, seems to work better with the co-ordinating foundation
  • Silver shimmer in the powder makes it inconvenient to build up the product if necessary – like touch ups

That said, once again Maybelline has got all the attention for it’s newly launched products. However, Maybelline Fit Me! Set + Smooth powder is slightly disappointing as a powder.

On the upside, it works awesome if you want to slightly highlight the key areas of your face.

Hope you found this post useful!

Which Maybelline Fit Me ! range have you tried? Do you have any recommendations for me?

Sugar Cosmetics | Twist and Shout Fade Proof Kajal in Still Got The Blues

Sugar Cosmetics Twist and Shout Fade Proof Kajal in Still Got The Blues is my new favorite. I was never a big fan of colored kajals until this one came along. I have always disliked the shade of blue on my eyes; they were always either too bright or too neon for my liking. Besides, I am more deviated towards dark colors for my eyes which only meant brown-black and black color till recently.

But Still Got The Blues changed the complete game. It’s intense, it is creamy and it glides smooth and easy. It works really well with Sugar Cosmetics Stroke of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl in Back to Black which I absolutely love. They together create a pretty intense and easy smokey winged eye without much effort. Here’s how it looks –

What I Love –

  1. It comes in easy to use twist applicator.
  2. It has creamy and intense formula.
  3. It has super smooth Velvety finish.
  4. It is Smudge proof and is very long lasting – upto 10 hrs without any touchups.
  5. It is free of mineral oil, preservatives, paraffin & parabens.
  6. It has benefits of kajal with goodness and precision of a gel liner.
  7. It has an anti-slip grip and super steady hold that helps in creating precision lines.
  8. It suits super sensitive eyes too and doesn’t tear up the eyes.

On the bright side, unlike other blue and ultramarine shades this one looks pretty, is not too much into the face and is easy on the eye. It also looks good when used on waterline and as well as to create a winged eye.

I personally love how absolutely fabulous it looks when paired with black to give that extra smoky effect to the winged eye.

And if you are like me who shies away from trying out blue kajal on eyes or totally new to colored kajals altogether, then this is the one you should give a go.

Do you like colored kajals? Have you tried this Still Got The Blues Kajal from Sugar Cosmetics yet?

Sugar Cosmetics Stroke of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl in Back to Black

Heavily rimmed kohl eyes are my go-to makeup any day. It is not only easy and quick to do but also keeps impatient people like me stay sane. Besides, there is a certain charm about kohl eyes that an eye makeup can’t do.
So I am here today to show you one of my favorite heavy duty kohl pencils that I instantly fell in love with.

Sugar Cosmetics Stroke of Genius Heavy Duty Kohl in Back to Black

At first glance this looked nothing special, but one swipe I stopped midway to check back what I was using on my eyes. It’s intense, it is super dark and it moves like a dream! I haven’t seen a kohl pencil that glides as smooth as this, plus the black color is so intense, I didn’t feel the need to reach out to mascara this time. If that isn’t enough, its waterproof formula stays upto 8 hours without any touchups. And since it is a wax based, it allows you to work seamlessly and effortlessly, be it – simply kohled eyes or classic winged eyes.
I usually intensify any kohl I use by swiping it many times on my waterline to get the dark color and the intense look, but with this one; I did 2-3 swipes max to make sure all corners and the lines came perfect and intense.

Heavy duty kohl like this is a dream come true!

One good thing about this is that comes with a free sharpener. I often deviate towards classic winged eye and trust me when I say, nothing works better than a well sharpened tip of a kohl pencil.

Thanks to this, now a classic winged eye is always on point!

That said, here’s a quick peek at the FOTD using this Stroke of Genius –

I simply love how easy and quick it was to do the Classic Winged Eye with this. This one for sure is a keeper and without a doubt a new permanent makeup essential for me!

Let’s face it, when it comes to shopping all women go weak in knees. And with the online shopping ruling the scene, it’s definitely hard to resist the desire to shop. It’s more like binge watching Netflix, it makes you super happy and takes you into another whole new world. It’s just that its makeup and beauty stuff here!

Talking of online shopping, a vast variety of shopping sites are now available at finger tips and that includes some major international sites too. Luckily, these sites now deliver to India too but the only hitch here is many of the products – like hair sprays (any sprays for that matter) and liquid products (like toners, serums etc.,) are never shipped due to some delivery concerns.

Such cases often lead to disappointment as many times these are the ones I often want to get my hands on and that also include some international brands too which are hard to find here in India. Fortunately, that’s not the case anymore!

Today am here to share with you a beauty products online site which is like a breath of fresh air. Be it the well picked products or the brands, it caters to almost all the needs of women. Best part it has a range of best night cream in India.

Aplava – It is a startup beauty company that strives to bring an unparalleled assortment of prestige brands, household names and niche, cult beauty brands, all on one site. Maybelline Newyork Summer Essentials Kit

maybelline summer essentials

Summer Essentials often change for me every year. While I always made sure to keep up with the newest launches for the season, there were always some exceptions. I often tweaked my routine to match my skin needs to make sure I get the best out of what I use.

And coming to makeup, be it summer or any other season, I always made sure stock up on season appropriate makeup so I don’t deviate much from my routine. But summers in Hyderabad have been pretty hot and humid lately.

If last year was pretty hot, this year it turned out to be scorching hot. So I have toned down the number of products I use this time. I preferred to keep it simple and to restrict myself to just 3 summer essentials.

Luckily, Maybelline just sent over their summer kit and honestly, this turned out to be the exactly 3 essentials I wanted.

Here’s what I got in the Summer Essentials kit –

maybelline summer essentials

  • The Colossal Kajal
  • White Super Fresh Compact
  • Babylips in Berry Crush

The Colossal Kajal

The Colossal Collection is one of my favorites from Maybelline Newyork. I just love their Colossal Liner better than any eye liner in the market. And to accompany it, there’s no better companion than the Colossal Kajal.

If you love their kajals as much as I do, you should check out their all new colossal kajal in super black. It’s the best!

White Super Fresh Compact

Maybelline New York‘s White Super Fresh Compact Powder is a 12 hour perfecting compact which helps to stay fresh, fair and always in control! It’s perfect for a Girl On The Go. It comes in a chic white case which is simply convenient and easy to carry around for all the frequent touch ups.

You can read my full and detailed review here

Another all time favorite is the Babylips collection. As much as I love their Candy Wow collection, their Babylips originals are still one of the best.

You can read about their babylips spiced up collection here

Kajal for the eyes to make them look bigger and brighter, compact to keep my face shine free and babylips to keep my lips supple and soft with a subtle hint of color.

For me, it’s definitely the love at first swatch and without doubt this is one of the best kajals I have used so far. Intense, black, smooth and long lasting; I couldn’t ask for more from a Kajal. And Lip Gradation lip colors are super easy to use to create the blurring effect or gradient lip tint look.
